At St James, children will be given home-learning tasks. The key purpose of the tasks is about developing a partnership with parents and involving them actively in their children’s learning. To achieve this, we set a variety of project-based tasks, which the children and parents can select from. An exhibition of what has been achieved is held at the end of the term. In addition, specific tasks, such as reading, are planned for on a weekly basis. Our fabulous virtual book bag can be used to achieve this.
The Reading Challenge
- Children are challenged to read 20 times, 50 times and even 100 times at home.
- If they manage to do all of this wonderful reading, they will win a brand new book of their choice.
- We hope to help all children build their own personal library!
Please take two minutes to watch this film on how you can help too; 10 minutes every day can make a huge difference to your child’s education.
